Anyone have a VW Jetta and an Infant Car Seat that fits?

Anonymous
We only have one car and we were looking at the Graco Snugride this weekend.
The sales guy mentioned that Jetta's are dificult to fit an infant seat into and sure enough, the car seat barely fits in the middle but the passenger seat has to be so far forward my knees are in the glove compartment - husband would never be able to sit over there. Has anyone else found a way to make an infant seat work in a Jetta? We are not overly tall - I'm 5'7'' and he is 6 ft.
Thanks!

We had a Jetta - the peg perego infant seat worked.

We had a really small car and I used information from http://www.carseatdata.org to find carseats that might fit. Really helpful site.

i have a golf, which i think is smaller than a jetta, and we got both an infant britax companion and now a britax marathon in it without a problem.

Britax Roundabouts are small compared to the Marathon and Boulevard. Same comfort and safety-only smaller.

We have a VW Eos and did pretty careful comparisons of everything in stock at Buy Buy Baby and decided the Peg Perego had the shortest front to back length.

We have it installed behind the passenger seat (due to the size and shape of the seats in an Eos, it fits so much better there than the middle that we decided it a worthwhile tradeoff). The passenger seat perfectly accommodates a 5'7" woman and tolerably a 6'2" man.
