Can people provide me with names / experiences with good public elementary schools in PG County? Looking to lower expenses but also find a good school for my child. I prefer to be close to DC and generally am not too into the suburbs. How is College Park? Hyattsville? Mt. Ranier? Other areas? |
I had a friend student teach in a classroom at Hollywood elementary school this past year, and she really loved it. They had smartboards, and other types of technology, and she said it was definitely not a "PG County School" stereotype. I believe its about 10 minutes away from college park. HTH! |

Prince George's County educator here - Prince George's County is headed in the right direction. Our new superintendent is quite a visionary. Test scores have increased two years in a row; remarkable gains by all students in ESEA subgroups. My advice all schools just like every school has it good and bad aspects. Visit the schools, check out the testing data, and connect with people in the perspective neighborhoods. |
