| I am a size 16 or 18 depending on the store and am an apple shape - skinny legs and arms, but big stomach. It is so hard to find jeans that fit. All of the books say wide leg or flare jeans which are hard to find with the straight leg craze going on. Where do you buy your jeans that you love? Bootcut jeans to me emphasize my skinny legs and big stomach.....ugh...... I definitely do not want to look bigger than I already am! |
| I like Coldwater Creek jeans. That may not be cool or trendy, but they are definitely flattering. |

I am size 8, but VERY apple shaped. (probably only 5 in. difference b/t waist and hips) I find that the Gap has some new cuts of jeans and their real straight (?) jeans fit me well. or straight boot cut (they have two types of boot cuts).
The top you wear matters too. you need to either have a belt or a longer top, but not so you look pregnant. It's tough. Most things are cut for pear shapes! |
Jag Jeans! |
| Also, skinny jeans can actually be really flattering on an apple shape if you are wearing the right top. I'm an apple, but I have shapely thights and ankles; skinny jeans highlight my legs and I longer sweater evens out my proportions (big boobs, round stomach. |
I meant *calves*, not ankles, though my ankles are nice too! |

I'm a smaller apple, but still an apple. I am a big fan of Gap jeans. Real Straight jeans look good with flats, boots, heels...and just about any top. The Perfect Boot has a slightly higher rise that reduces muffin top beautifully, is fitted through my small hips and thighs, and just wide enough at the ankle to accommodate cowboy boots underneath. Only downside is that they are ridiculously long, but the "ankle" length is too short for me. I have a pair of the Always Skinny, and they do make my tush look fabulous, but require a longer top to mask the tummy in front. My mom, who is a size 14 apple, loves her Gap Always Skinny jeans; I think she buys them a size up to have a looser fit. She also likes Lands End skinny jeans.
Be sure to stick to the darker washes and avoid whiskering and fading. Flattering tops do a lot, too. I'm fond of faux wrap tops that aren't too tight and have enough structure/heft that they don't show every lump. Something that creates a visual waist definition but doesn't look like a maternity top. If you wear a longer top, consider belting it to create a waistline. I know you asked about jeans, but make sure your bra fits well. Lifting the girls will help make you look slimmer and better from head to toe. |

| There are TONS of wide-legs/flares out there right now, but maybe not in plus sizes? I think a wide-leg looks great on this body type, just make sure it's not too tapered through the knee. |
| I think Seven makes plus-size jeans. Also, it is totally worth it to get them altered if necessary. Good luck, OP! |
| Levi's slimming jeans are helpful as they're high waisted with tummy control plus don't sag if you have a flatter bottom. |
| Silver jeans are best |
| Lucky or Kut seem to have more generous waists. |
