Hello,
I was hoping that some of you might be able to suggest some after school enrichment classes/vendors that have been well received at your school. We are looking to add some new classes to the spring offerings and would love some ideas. Many thanks! |

| My kid really enjoyed Mad Science. We haven't done a lot of them yet thought. |
| Robotics, language classes, chess, drama |
| Lego club. |
| Girls on the Run, Odyssey of the Mind, FIRST LEGO League |
| Tiny chefs, mad science |
| Overtime Athletics, Video Game Design, running club |
| Hip Hop Dance |
|
Chess, Odyssey of the Minds and or
Destination Imagination |
| My son is taking Chess from Schoolhouse Chess which in this area is apparently managed by, or a subsidiary of Mad Science which is based in Silver Spring. He has been very enthusiastic about it. And no, I'm not in any way affiliated with the organization! You can go to www.schoolhousechess.com. |

Another vote for a running club, esp. if you have any parents who are marathoners or serious runners and have flexibility in their schedule and can lead the club.
We had one in the fall - two marathoner moms led it for 2nd - 5th graders at our ES. They did have a minimum grade requirement of 2nd grade. It was 1-2 days a week total. (Originally was going to be 2 days, but due to high interest, they split the schedule for 1 day for 2nd/3rd graders and 1 day for 4th/5th graders so more kids could participate.) Cost was fairly minimal. The running club also provided a healthy snack for kids. |
