Hello,
This is probably a very sillly question, but my DD loves grilled cheese sandwiches - do I have to just prepare it in the morning and let them reheat it at daycare? |
| That's what I used to do...just grilled it in the morning and let it cool off a bit before I put it in a container (so that the steam didn't make it all soggy). |

We have just started doing this for DS again. Previous attempts failed b/c even with a reheat it was still mushy from microwave. But we got one of those special thermos products that keeps food quite hot for a while and suddenly it works out! I put some veggies in there too. I cut it up for him so it fits in the thermos/ And yeah, it's kinda weird putting a sandwich in a bottle, but it works!
Got this rec from a DCumer on a post about daycare doing peanut free and thus we had do send something other than PB&J. We are using a Thermos Foogo container but I'm sure there are others out there too. |
| Does your daycare have a toaster oven? That might be a better way to reheat it than a microwave. |
| It wouldn't have ever occured to me to reheat a grilled cheese! DD eats them regularly room temp!! |
| We make them all the time for daycare, let them cool, put it in the fridge at daycare, and she eats it cold. She also eats cold pasta with sauce all the time - she doesn't mind. |
| Man, I'm a bad mum. I just slap the cheese between two slices of toast and be done with it. |
