Of course she does. This is not a question of IF there is a pre-nup, it is a question on if the pre-nup is the reason the marriage license wasn't filed immediately and if it has been filed yet. I mean honestly, if this was a last minute/middle of the night let's get married thing, they have some legal stuff to figure out before it's official (I suppose they could do a post-nup, but I can't imagine their handlers weren't already drawing up legal docs).

Most of the girls in DS’s class don’t dress like this either. The are very into short skirts, LoveShackFancy and a very girly look.

Hmm, I’m in fairfax county and public school tween/teen girls in my daughters circles have both look going on. I think of it like the Olivia Rodrigo girls have their short pleated shirts and polo shirts and work out tops and the Billie Eillish girls have the baggy shirts and pants look

Are you saying the teens in the city are less likely to have be androgynous look? It sounds like you’re saying urban kids are all into the Frou-frou feminine look, with no mix of looks. If so, that’s an odd take because usually people criticize the suburbs for homogeneity—but here you’re knocking the suburbs for having a variety of different looks? I’m in MoCo and I agree that the androgynous look is still big here, and more popular with the 13-14 year old girls than the frilly feminine look.

No, I agree with you. I was the one who originally said the two celeb kids look/dress just like my 14 year old and friends, and I think this look is more ubiquitous among city kids.

I am in Fairfax and my 14yo and her friends go to Catholic school. When not at school, my daughter usually wears a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Kind of an athletic, clean-cut look. Her friends also dress like this or maybe leggings. They neither dress girly girly (but I have seen some girls in their class like this at some social gatherings). But no one ever wears androgynous baggy. I have not seen this look since 90s grunge. And I am happy about that!

You’re right, not so androgynous. Jeans, sweats with simple tees, sometimes crop tops. Unfussy hair, no makeup. But the girly dresses, skirts, and rompers are long gone. Would wear a dress for a dressy occasion only. Non-binary kids dress more like Emme and Sara, or mix things up according to mood.

Yes, when I see kids that age dressed like Emme and Sera, that says non-binary or going through some other type of issue where they are trying to hide their body. Not comfortable with their body changes? Not comfortable with attention? Something else going on in their life?

You clearly don't have a tween or teen. There are even some 5th/6th graders in my younger child's class that have cut their hair short and dressing in baggy clothes. It's what's in style, PP.

As mentioned elsewhere in thread, there is a big divide between athletic, no make up, shiny long hair, oversized tee, Lululemon shorts and tan legs and the hot mess these girls are styling. This is an anonymous forum, and I think it is just the equivalent of an awkward stage. Girls used to fight it with varying degrees of success, but now they seem to be embracing it fully. This is probably progress, but I secretly feel it’s great for YOUR daughter but not mine.
