Remembering Don Cornelius

Anonymous
Don Cornelius passed away. He took his life, I suspect due to reported health issues. The story below has a great clip of the Soul Train line, and it made me smile. Even better was seeing Don dance the line, which he never does. The Soul Train line was a celebration of life and freedom to me. You will be missed, Don Cornelius.

I thought it must have been health problems when I heard on the radio.

When I was a kid in the 70s/early 80s we never missed an episode of Soul Train or American Bandstand after teh cartoons went off. Loved the Soul Train line and the scramble board. Me/my brother used to pretend we were playing the scramble board with those plastic magnetic letters every kid had. We'd move the letters around on the fridge then pretend to dance to a funky jam.

Me too. I forgot about the scramble board. I used to dance the line in my living room.
