instead of the $1000 bag, how would you spend the $$

I've been thinking about the bag thread and wonder, if you HAD to have a 1000 to spend on yourself (beauty, fashion, fitness) or buy a 1000 bag, what would you get?

I think i'd get a really nice suit with both pants and skirt and nice silk top. Also, a great-looking yet comfortable pair of shoes. I'm guessing I"m up to 600 or 800. I'd use the rest to update my under-suit shirts. They are in need of upgrading.

I'd get an entire work wardrobe for a year for $1000. But I'd need a week to shop.

I think that's fair. I have a bag about tha t amount, but generally wear jeans and nice tops as a sahm. We also volunteer a lot and have a foundation, before I get flamed!

Go away for a weekend with DH.
Take my parents or in-laws out to a NICE dinner (at, like, Michael Richard's Citronelle or CityZen).
More likely, I'd buy a nice piece of furniture or something for my home. I won't spend $$ on a gucci bag but a nice mid-century modern chair or table...yeah. THAT's what I'm talkin'bout.

This is the more common choice for me, too... but only small items would cost less than $1,000!

I just got a $450 Tahari suit at Marshall's for less than 60 bucks, so I'm with the PP who would need a week to shop but would get an entire wardrobe upgrade over $1000 on one bag.
