What to do with all the poor people east of North Capitol... |
Generous Section 8 housing vouchers. If you rent, you can get a much better bang for your buck in the suburbs. |
I heard The council is pissed off. The are talking about firing people! I know crazy, but they left a lot of money on the table. I think they are going into emergent session to divide( oh I mean get to the bottom) of this. Of course, the session will be secrete. |
Not sure why they'd be looking to fire people. From what I heard, the surplus was largely due to much higher revenues than expected. Part of that was the explosive growth in new residents with incomes over $100k. |
This simply can't be right. We were assured over and over again that Gray's election would cause a shortage of moving vans as the entire Ward 3 population moved to Maryland. I have avoided Connecticut Avenue for a year in order not be run over. You sure mean "the explosive grown of residents with incomes over $100k relocating out of the District", don't you? |
I think they found the money in Harry Thomas Jr.'s sock drawer. |
"We were assured over and over again that Gray's election would cause a shortage of moving vans as the entire Ward 3 population moved to Maryland. I have avoided Connecticut Avenue for a year in order not be run over. "
No one's moving because they believe that Gray is the last hurrah for DC's old guard of Barry era politicos. Gray will be a one term clock puncher (if he's not recalled first). |
In the immortal words of Larry Summers, "There are idiots. Look around!" ![]() |
They just got scared. It will be gone soon! Did you know the auto show is in town? |
They said they were going to take their ball and go home. Apparently they were quite literal in their threat. |
That or the new speed camera on Foxhall is raking in big revenue. |
from the article "When we say that $240 million came in, residents want to know what's in it for them."
