What school cluster does the Fallsgrove neighborhood attend?

Does this neighborhood fall into the Wootton cluster? Would that mean the elementary school is Lakewood? Does the entire neighborhood go to the same school or is it split?

Fallsgrove goes to Ritchie Park/Julius West/Richard Montgomery. It's possible that the neighborhood is split with another cluster, but I don't think so.

The whole neighborhood goes to Ritchie Park. I live in the neighborhood, although if the 5th elem school is built we could get moved to that elem school.

PP is correct (Ritchie Park, Julius West, RM); however, whenever elementary school #5 is built (it is Star's MCPS budget) they plan to do a boundry study. It is possible that Fallsgrove may end up re-zoned for someplace else.

It is my understanding that RM ES #5 would not change any of the external boundaries for the RM district. That is, Fallsgrove would not be sanctioned off to another cluster.... nor would any of the other neighborhoods in the RM cluster be likely to get "shifted" into some other cluster.

Not another cluster but another school within the cluster, like the new one or Beall. Unlikely to be College Gardens as I think it will just lose the CI program but keep its neighborhood boundaries. Unlikley to be Twinbrook based on location.

OP here. Thank you. I assumed b/c Fallsgrove is physically closer to Lakewood that it would automatically be zoned for that ES. I find it odd that the neighborhood is zoned for Ritchie Park. I was not aware of this. Thank you all for the information.

Physical location is not the only factor. When Fallsgrove was built, they had to determine which school/cluster was best able to accommodate the new source of students. Considering how crowded RM is, I am not sure they did a good job but.. Diversity is also a factor.

OP again. Does the MOCO school website list out neighborhoods (or provide some type of map) of the areas designated for each of it's ES?

Yes - go to the main site and click on schools - each school has a pdf cluster map linked. You can also put in an address in the assignment locator link.
