| just ordered in sushi. was expecting it to be fine, but it was great. i am just getting over a cold and can finally taste again! score one for a woodley park restaurant. they are usually sort of blah. |
| What did you order? |
|
Godzilla Roll
Tempura Sweet Potato Roll Spicy Lobster Roll the first one was especially great. prices are decent too. umi of japan. |
| Any sake? |
|
more importantly, from where?
the only sushi place i recall from when i lived in woodley was the sushi place on connecticut and it wasn't sushi but something trying to pass for sushi. |
glad you enjoyed but belch, this does not sound like proper sushi. |
| What is a Godzilla roll? |
What the hell is a "proper sushi"? Have you heard of California Roll?? Not something a samurai would have eaten, but then again I am so glad I am not living in a feudal Japan. |
like i said, it was takeout. in woodley park. i stick to rolls in this scenario. |
I think it's fairly obvious that OP indulged in sake as well as sushi! |
| Why so secretive about the name of the restaurant? It's not like we're all going to run over and steal your Godzilla rolls. |
| Er, OP posted name in the third post. Umi. |
| The problem is most of us don't know if umi is the name of a restaurant or the name of a type of sushi. That's what happens when you drink so much sake you think you have become e.e. cummings. Sushi from the Colonel might be damn good at that point. |
Er, Umi is a type of sushi. Didn't know it was also the name of a restaurant. And I've ordered from there. Overpriced and not fresh! |
A california roll is one thing, but some of these batter dipped, potato filled things sound AWFUL. What's next, will you put it in a tortilla and sell it at Taco Bellâ„¢? |
