Before and After Care Programs at Beall

Anonymous
My daughter will be attending Beall this fall and we will need aftercare, and possibly before care as well. For some reason, I am having difficulty identifying what, if any, programs are available at the school. Can anybody help?

Thanks!

Call the school and ask if they have onsite after care.

PP here. I googled "Beall Elementary onsite aftercare" and learned its provided by Global Children's Center

http://www.globalchildrenscenter.com/pages/hours-location.htm

Looks like you can also do the Georgetown Hill location at Woodley Gardens and MCPS may provide a regular bus stop. My child goes to College Gardens, and I know a few kids who do before/after care at Georgetown Hill and MCPS does the busing.

I know this is an old post. Anyone have any experience with (Before and After care) Global Children's Center at Beall Elementary?

My kids don't love, love, love going there, but the program is fine for us. They have toys, projects, and gym or outdoor access to keep the kids occupied but mine generally prefer to read or play/chat with friends. The hours are great (starting at 6:30 am and ending at 6:30 pm) though we never use anything close to that and the pricing is reasonable.

Before anyone chooses Global Children's Center, check out their list of citations at the state's department of education. A parent did that for our Global program at another school and found all sorts of bad things. Not meeting ratios of teachers to students, cases of students walking off school campus undetected. And keep in mind all citations worthy things don't get reported because many are too afraid to report things, even somewhat serious things like students being checked out by adults not their parents without notice or identification proof.

Reviving this old thread - anyone have recent reviews on before and aftercare at Beall? Does it usually fill so that some children won’t be able to attend?

Bump. My DC may be enrolling midyear so wondering about this now.

To the 2 PPs,, Beall is a different school now that Bayard Rustin ES has opened. Some neighborhoods previously at Beall are now at BRES. One neighborhood from CGES is now at Beall (and then, it's only grades K-2 at Beall now, next year will be K-3, and so on for another couple of years). You need to call Beall, find out who their provider it, and then call them.

Global is still at Beall. They are fine, but nothing exciting. Prices have gone up in the last couple years, but still extremely affordable.

Not sure what this has to do with people's thoughts on the care provider..

The new posters are also asking if the program fills up. There are fewer kids at the school now. I don't know if the demand for the provider is as high as it was. Call the provider and find out.

Thanks for the recent replies. I’ll call the school and Global.
