When we had to close on a new-build house, we hired Kevin Gale of Gale & Walthall in Laurel. When we needed a lawyer, this firm was on the list of recommended professionals in my wife's federal agency benefits office. We hired them based on the recommendation.

Mr. Gale did a fantastic job and saved us thousands of dollars. We had send the preview HUD-1 to Mr. Gale, he advised us of some things we needed to change before the closing. We also hired him to attend closing and at closing he identified that they had completely changed the info on the HUD (we were supposed to get a 30-year mortgage, they wrote it for 40-year, we were supposed to pay 1% interest and they wrote 1.25%, taxes mysteriously and for no documented reason went from $4500-5800. All told, if we had not read carefully, it would have cost us over $2800. The lawyer was strict with them, they had to postpone and reschedule closing for the next day. The mortgage company reimbursed us 8 hours at both of our salaries and gave us $500 compensation for the lawyer. Since we paid $650 for the lawyer to attend the settlement, it only cost us $150 thanks to their error. So, the lawyer saved us over $3000 when the dust settled. He knew his business and worked hard for his money. I would definitely recommend him again.
