Getting rid of dark spots

Anonymous
I picked up a bad, bad case of molluscum contagiosum last winter at our public pool (thanks pool), on the back/upper part of my leg. The condition cleared up after some treatment by a dermatologist and lots of time, but it has now left me with discolored marks on my skin. They almost look like big, bad age spots. I'd LOVE to get rid of these before swimsuit season is back, since I had to spend last summer covered by swim shorts and swim skirts all season (mind you...not necessarily a bad thing for me....but it did get old having to worry about it ALL the time). Has anyone had any experience getting rid of spots by using an over-the-counter solution? Or do I just have to wait and hope that they fade on their own, which doesn't look very likely?

I tried the Clinque 'even better spot corrector' (or whatever the marketing name is) and it didnt do anything. BUT then i talked to a dermatologist who said that even the strongest, perscription stuff, can take up to 6-8 months to see a difference. The expensive clinique bottle was too small to last that long, so who's to say

Anyway, i wouldnt recommend that, but do suggest you head back to your dermatologist to get a perscription. EVen if the over the counter stuff works, it's cheaper!
