I would really appreciate any feedback on the CTY summer camps in Alexandria run by Johns Hopkins. Are they worth the cost and commute? Which camps did your child attend? Thanks!!!
My dd attended the inventions class a couple summers ago. She had a great time, but tuition is starting to get ridiculous and they never offer new classes. Just the same ones year after year. We won't be back.
Thanks so much for the feedback. Would appreciate any one elses feedback as well.

Did the forensics one. My kid liked the hands-on aspects but not the homework.
I loved not having to pack a lunch. |
Thanks for your reply. Didn't realize they provide lunch. Homework is a big concern - would rather our child get a chance to go to the pool after doing academics most of the day in the middle of the summer.

My son took Robotics at Sandy Spring campus. Loved it not much homework, great presentation at end. He will be taking another course this summer with CTY as will his younger brother. Worth the money in my opinion. Picky-eater son even enjoyed the food.

A friend's son did the "Be a scientist" last year and loved it; he is returning this year with my son for the "Inventions" session. We have heard nothing but good things about the CTY summer sessions. It is true that the 3 week session is not cheap ($1495), but I am paying $425/week for non-CTY camp sessions (e.g., at Congressional) so it's not far off of the scale for summer camp in the DC area.
pp - I goofed. The cost is closer to 2K and not 1500 for the 3 week session. My bad.
