I've been going to a dermatoligist for a while which has helped but I still have very clogged pores on my nose. I am looking for a spa/facial place that will help clear them up -- extractions, etc. Any recommendations? |
| I never have had lasting effects from a facial. Plus they make me break out. So I've been trying Neutrogena blackhead face mask every other day or so for the last 2 weeks. Plus a few boire strips. Much, much better than before (and not traumatic to my sensitive skin). Anyway it'll be easier/cheaper to maintain than frequent facials. Just throwing it out there. |
| Best bet is to go to a dermatologist and get a perscription for a topical retinoids. It'll clear up your face and help with fine lines. It'll net out to be cheaper in the long run than getting a single $80 facial. |
| I have the same issue. In addition to have a lot of blackheads, I also have whiteheads that are very difficult to remove. I have been going to Sedi at Hala Spa in Chevy Chase. She is pretty aggressive in getting your skin cleaned and with extractions. A 50 minute deep cleansing facial is $120. |

Thanks for the recommendations. I might give a facial a shot.
I am using a retinoid and it doesn't make a dent in the blackheads. |
| Do those who have blackheads removed feel it makes an overall difference in overall look? |
| Have you tried a good BHA? I like Mandelic Acid for this. |
| Use natural green bentonite clay. It's the cheapest option and by far the best. You can find it online. |
| Have you ever tried oil cleansing? My best friend had great success with clearing up persistent blackheads that way. |
