Fairfax County SACC and AAP Centers

Question for AAP Center parents that use Fairfax County SACC -- do you know how placement works if your child moves from a base school (as a 2nd grader where he is in after school SACC) and moves to an AAP Center for 3rd grade? I know the SACC wait lists can be long (depending on the specific school).

Your kid can stay in SACC at the base school and the bus will take him there after school each day.

yes, you can stay at base school SACC if you want to. you can also call SACC asking for transferring to AAP SACC. we did it with my 3rd-grade son. the transferring was amazingly fast, because you are going to stand in a different list from the other kids waiting for SACC with AAP as their base school or kids who have never been with SACC before.

Thank you both! We would probably opt for AAP SACC as it would be easier for after-school activities that are held in the school.
