Hey - our son loves the Patriots and we don't have cable so can't watch tonight's game. Can anyone recommend a restaurant/sports bar with TVs where we can bring him to watch the game. We live in NWDC, but would travel to Bethesda or Arlington if there are better places there. Thanks!!
Geez i can't believe some church isn't showing the game!
In Bethesda, Rock Bottom Brewery and American Tap Room have a ton of TVs.
We've taken our kid to Rock Bottom to watch the Pats lots of times (if the bar area seems full there are more tvs upstairs). Go Pats!
Thirsty Bernie's in Arlington is a great small sports bar with really good food. We take our kids there all the time.

That game is on channel 9 - do you get local channels?
Rock Bottom is a good choice - Caddie's is also a good sports bar in Bethesda but probably too rowdy for a kid. How old is your son? |
Thank you all! A neighbor just invited us so we now have a plan. No - we don't even get channel 9! It's weird, the only station we get is channel 4. Now we have some great options for future games.
How old is your son? Old enough to be a Pats fan, but young enough to need a special kid-friendly spot?
You sound skeptical, like you don't believe this. My son is 12, and other than the choice of teams, I could have written the OP. He's plenty old enough to be a sports fan, but young enough that he needs a place that lets people in under 21, for one thing. In addition, I prefer to take him to places that are more like restaurants and less like bars, where you can sit at a table, eat food, and not be surrounded by drunk people. I guess that makes him a snowflake, and me a helicopter mom. |
For future reference, you often see kids at Bailey's in the Ballston Commons mall, and at Glory Days restaurants. Greene Turtle has more branches now too, and there were some kids in the Ballston location on Saturday.
OP here. Thanks again all. My kid is all of 7 years old and seems to understand everything about football.
