Great American Restaurants

Love this group of restaurants. However, lately we have had some terrible experiences with the service. They used to be known for their great customer service. They seem to be very good at apologizing, perhaps because lately they have done it frequently.
Anyone else notice this? Any suggestions for restaurants in Northern VA with great food and great service? We need to get out of our restaurant rut!

We have only been to Sweetwater on Gallows Road lately and service was fine.

If you like Mexican, we really like El Tio on Lee Highway in Falls Church.

Yes, it's really clean and the food is fresh and delicious and the service is good. They are really kid friendly, too. I am a teacher and one of my former students works there which is why we started going, but we continue to go because it is really good!

Ozzie's over at Fairfax Corner is pretty good still. They just added lunch and dinner ca ahead/take away menus.

I had a terrible experience at Sweetwater -- maybe because we were a large group (9). Service took forever, they never refilled our drinks, got several orders wrong and my plate had gunk from some other dish crusted on it.

I find them all chaotic, too. So many people.

This is unusual, You should've told the manager and he would have given you a coupons for a free meal or at least desserts.

Weird. I've actually been turned away from Sweetwater because they couldn't accommodate a group of 8. No tables were big enough. Maybe not the same location.

Not part of the "Great American" chain, but sooooo good. Everything I've had from there has been fabulous! We may need to make a trip there this weekend
