Please make it stop.

All of these posts make me SO GLAD to not be in the Fairfax school system, where there's all this angst over G&T programming.

It's AAP. G&T is something we drink after we get the test results.

this is a forum for people who want to ask questions or have a specific concern, I don't find there is anything wrong to post the question YOU are not interested. Just what you said you are not in Fairfax school system and have problem of what others posting, you can choose not to read if you don't like it. But others still have the right to post their questions.

Hi all,
I just got my DD's Cogat scores. She's in Prince Wiliam county public schools though and took the test last November. A question that I have is the results only show her raw scores, stanine, and percentile rank. There was no SAS (the score that has to be 130 or higher). We are planning to move to Fairfax county next school year and hoping that she would qualify for aap level 4 using her Cogat scores from prince William county. Does anybody know if there is a way to convert raw scores into SAS? Or who do I contact in FCPS to find out if raw scores and percentile ranks are acceptable forms of scores to determine eligibility for level4?
thank you!

The level 4 cutoff is typically around the 98th percentile.

There is no level IV cutoff. There is an in-pool cutoff which is around 130 on any subtest.

Any parent can refer.

Dude. This topic CONSUMES this forum. This is about VA schools, not how you want to connive to get your bright but average child into a gifted program. Every time I come here hoping to see something about VA schools, I'm distracted by thread after thread after thread with these acronyms and anxious parents.

Are Fairfax schools really so poor that you have to get into some elite program to get a good education? Or, is it just that the elite program is a commodity and this is Washington so everyone feels entitled?

The latter. Now get off of our thread, dude.
