The conductor stopped the performance because some ill-mannered idiot in the first row had his/her cell turned on and kept ringing. The Conducor received a standing ovation. This is unbelievably rude and the offender should have been excourted out and barred from ever attending anything at Avery Fisher Hall forever.
Leave you cell in the car or turn the damn thing off when attending symphonies, operas, movies, and church. Nobody is that important. |

| Oh my god. I would be so unbelievably pissed if I were the conductor, a musician, anyone in the audience. That person should have been escorted out immediately (preferably accompanied by cries of "boo!" and "hiss!" and "shame!"). What a self-centered jackass. |
