No news there. I don't see any evidence of the party becoming less educated, though, though it wouldn't surprise me.
It's a little hard to tease out the relationship between education and ideology b/c rich kids get better educations. The last data I saw (pretty old, now) showed the left and right to be about the same, but the left to have both more smarter and more dumber people (i.e., instead of a normal distribution it's a double hump). As I say that, though, I can't quite remember if that was IQ or education... Anyway, I think it's still a leap to say that Reps are increasingly uneducated w/o a good study. It's obvious that the dominant attitude of the party is anti-science, though - it's one of their key principles. |
