How is it possible that the public does not know the names of the shooters at this point?

Because the government is withholding the names and the officers involved are wearing masks. The only reason we know the name of Renée Goods killer is because Noem inadvertently disclosed a detail about him in her press conference. She let it slip that he had been injured in an earlier incident with a moving vehicle and journalists and others quickly looked that up and found him.

I don't see how these sanctuary cities that refuse to help ICE with the anti-commandeering laws can expect the same kinds of services that the local police would offer.

No, they aren't from your community, no they aren't there with body cams and all that stuff.

The federal government isn't supposed to be doing a whole lot of enforcement in the local jurisdictions. They are really just after the illegal aliens. They aren't equipped to handle all of these other confrontations, because that's not what they are supposed to do. They aren't supposed to be interacting with civilians. Nor do we really want to equip them to do so. They aren't police officers. They are immigration enforcement agents.
