Nope on both counts.

Sending out illegal checks, especially with a $2 trillion deficit, would be catastrophic for whatever remains of faith in the US as the world’s reserve currency.

There is a reason the dollar is crashing under Trump. There is a reason our economy is on edge. There is a reason other countries are fleeing away from the US. Whatever faith the world has in the US is falling off a cliff.

This.
And to think we thought the finance bros would prevent this.

China has exported $120 billion in green technology for the year-to-date. The US, which has positioned itself as a major fossil fuel exporter, has only sold $80 billion in oil and gas abroad.

This could have been the USA, alas, but since the GOP opposes new technology are are climate deniers, they stuck with the tried and true dying fossil fuel industry.

And to think, China got its head start on green energy technology by stealing it from the YSA and making it better. Wow.

Who could have possibly predicted that making every US manufacturing input more expensive would lead to less manufacturing in the US?

Perhaps they did, but what has the US done with it?

Unlike some manufacturing inputs, the Canadians can pivot to non-US suppliers for their bourbon and whiskey and clearly they are. Never underestimate the resolve and tenacity of a younger sibling.

Nothing. That’s the point. The USA created the technology and then abandoned it to a country that stole the technology and actually used and profited from it. It’s crazy.

It's because republicans keep going back. They refuse to recognize the future.
