Nope, just a realist who acknowledges that some teachers are doing their best and others are taking advantage of the situation to do less. |
No. In reality, too many families chose hybrid and that is one driver for the concurrent plan. |
I don’t believe your book recommendation story, quite frankly, and I still think you could’ve just Googled them, anyway. My guess is you take the term “public servant” a little too far. |
Nothing more is really needed. Teachers should double-mask, wear a face shield if they want, and all kids should be back 5 days/week. Kids should wear masks and self-distance on busses. This is not rocket science. |
Our school literally does not have the space to separate everyone the required distance and have them in the building. It’s not rocket science. |
We now know there is nothing magical about six feet. Once teachers are vaccinated and parents are vaccinated (hopefully by the summer), schools can reopen 5 days a week with kids spread out as best they can and kids wearing masks. There is no more need for hybrid. |
We currently are a DL family and I hope by fall you are right. That’s not now and that’s not concurrent which was the point of this thread.

I could Google books, but couldn't Google what books would be appropriate for my daughter. She'd been in her class all year, so I thought she'd have a better idea. Normally I'd just get a selection from the library, but that wasn't an option in April. Believe what you wish. I posted about this same incident last spring in several of the threads about APS. Feel free to do a search. |
I’m not in APS but a parent did email me asking what I would normally cover in 4th quarter and pacing guides that aren’t published publicly. Admin told me I couldn’t share it. And it went back and forth 2/3 times and eventually it escalated to admin and I agreed it was ridiculous but we really and truly could not provide that to parents. |
(I probably would have recommended choice reading books though since that’s different but if admin told her not to that’s what it was) |
