Trump supporters in the DC metro area

Count me in as part of the silent majority. It's simply not worth discussing politics because the minute people find out you voted for Trump they label you as a racist. It's a losing proposition. For every 1 public supporter of Trump there are 30 liberals ready to pounce and do everything they can to discredit the person as a wacko, racist, bigot, etc. etc. Easier for us just to stay quiet. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and free speech as long as its the same opinion and free speech of the majority I guess.

I find it laughable that in this area everyone thinks you vote the "right way" whatever that means.

Why should they vote for a Republican, if not a multi-millionaire?

White guys voting for Republicans is just another form of tribal cultural signalling. It's certainly not based on any logical policies. Most white UMC guys I know had their taxes go up with the recent tax legislation. So it's certainly not about lower taxes.

This is a weird question. Here are the issues on the DNC site that they stand for. I guess if you are straight white male you don't care about these things:


Civil Rights -- straight white males don't care about civil rights I guess unless it's their gun rights being threatened
Education -- I know.. you like being uneducated.. you take pride in it.
Environment -- straight white males don't mind drinking polluted water I guess. Goes with "education" above.
Health Care -- straight white males don't go see doctors cause they are tough, so why does anyone else need access to healthcare
Immigration Reform -- shut the borders. Don't let in anymore people from sh1thole countries, except if they're white, I guess
Jobs and the Economy -- straight white males don't care about jobs because they all join the military or expect the government to open up tank factories to build more tanks that the military doesn't want. Government should give me a job if I want it.
National Security -- straight white males are ok with our national security being threatened and having Trump over ride all the clearance rejections
Preventing Gun Violence -- straight white males are ok with gun violence.. "from my cold dead hands"
Retirement Security -- straight white males are willing to work till they die, except when they get laid off for being too old, then it's "damn those foreigners for taking my job" -- "see immigration reform" above
Science and Technology -- straight white males don't believe in this. See "education" above.
Voting Rights -- straight white males don't care if minorities have a harder time voting as long as white people can vote.

Care to educate me? According to dictionary.com it is the following: "silent majority. A term used by President Richard Nixon to indicate his belief that the great body of Americans supported his policies and that those who demonstrated against the involvement of the United States in the Vietnam War amounted to only a noisy minority." Which is exactly what I meant here...the people supporting Trump stay quiet why a noisy minority continues to beat the drum against Trump whenever possible and belittle any and all people who go against their opinions by smearing them and not using facts but rather labels like racist, bigot,etc when you can certainly look at Trumps policies and numbers and say the opposite is true.

You are right on only one point. Trump's behavior is disgusting. Blatant is certainly not true without media exaggeration. But if we eliminated disgusting politicians we wouldn't have any. Trump might really be the most open President in history. Wonder what's on his mind? Read his Twitter feed. It's curiously refreshing and transparent.
