Most beautiful campuses

University of San Diego is definitely worth consideration for most beautiful over these, particularly if weather is factored.

We recently toured Stanford and Chicago. I was really blown away with how beautiful their campuses are. Stanford was really idyllic and exactly where I would’ve wanted to attend for undergrad. I went to Dartmouth and let’s just say it wasn’t that beautiful and sunny in March.

Faux Princeton? Check out the real thing, not some cancer school funded by death sticks.

You know Princeton is modeled after Oxford and Cambridge right?

If you want authentic, you have to go to Europe.

DP. Even so, Princeton has a style than Duke lacks, perhaps because Nassau Hall once served as the U.S. Capitol and the town is historic as well. Duke is more obviously a copy of something else, and Durham was a tobacco town.

And almost every picture of Duke seems to be the Duke Chapel, whereas pictures of Princeton highlight any number of the buildings on campus.

I don't like Princeton's recent buildings.

Princeton new buildings are ugly. Duke has a few ugly ones as well like the Bryan Center, but not as many. And Duke has the incredible gardens adjacent to campus. Plus east offers a nice contrast on a beautiful, classic looking quad. New construction on East isn't perfect but they are at least trying, unlike Princeton.

I don't like Duke East and it is not connected.

I have seen quite a few campuses and these are the ones that made the most favorable and lasting impressions:

Oxford and Cambridge. Extraordinary architecture and gardens that have been perfected over many centuries. Intertwined with interesting cities. Wonderful in summer.

Princeton. The architecture, landscape, and town all fit together.

Yale. Perhaps the best architecture on any U.S. university campus, both for classic (Collegiate Gothic) and modern buildings like the Yale Center for British Art.

West Point. Loved the view of and from the Hudson. You can feel the history and commitment.

William and Mary. Stopped for a quick visit to the historic buildings and just kept seeing more and more interesting areas to walk through.

CU Boulder. Campus architecture fits great in the beautiful Flatiron mountain setting and the lovely town.

Indiana University. Surprisingly lovely for such a large campus with distinctive limestone buildings in a park-like setting.

Sewanee. Beautiful small school with a huge, lovely wooded campus.

University of British Columbia. Beautiful vistas on a clear day.

Duke. Gothic West campus is picturesque and the adjacent Duke Gardens are lovely.

Pepperdine. Memorable views overlooking the Pacific from every part of campus. The buildings are not remarkable, but they'd never be able to compete with the views anyway.

I love the Dartmouth campus, even in winter. And the town adds to it.

Colgate is beautiful in the photo but when I visited with my kids you don't get the vista from very many places, you just get the yellow buildings and it didn't seem that attractive to me. And the town is dreary.

I didn't see Colgate buildings as yellow. Perhaps I am color blind.
