I don’t given a crap he paid off a porn star to keep quiet. So what? How does that affect the typical person who can’t afford groceries, crime through the roof, illegal immigration bankrupting NYC, Chicago, Denver….

Most people do not care!!!!

It was more than paying off a porn star but ok, you’re not a details person.

Still don’t care.

You will be surprised how many voters care about inflation. Just ask the typical middle class voter in Wisconsin who makes 50k a year supporting their family. When they get their groceries, they have to make sacrifices on what they can afford and what they can not. They will vote with their pocketbook and it given a crap about Trump’s conviction.

This is me and we live in NOVA. I Can. Not. Handle. my weekly grocery bill of $250 + for five people. I KNOW things were better when Trump was president.

And I will vote accordingly.

You are grumbling about $250 a week, for 4 people, you must be eating a lot of rice and beans, which means you are of the poors and mostly likely a Trumper anyway!

You aren’t fooling anyone!

I said 5 not four. I get it that you can’t read. And that is on the low end.

Unfortunately, I think this verdict might increase his odds of winning. The outcome won’t impact democratic voter turnout, but I suspect it will boost registered republicans voter turnout to record levels.

Only if he is elected governor of New York.

Criminal and jail time possible but legal experts say very unlikely even if he weren’t a former President.

Trump faces four years in prison per each of the 34 counts.

Needless to say, at this point I will be voting Trump.

You know the President (at least for now) doesn’t control the NY courts, right?

This. Dems need to remember what happened to Bill Clinton’s political stock after the special prosecution. But most people who post here are irrational partisan hacks with no critical thinking skills.

Better get another job. Trump is bringing a global trade war to a supermarket near you (who by the way, are the ones gouging you, making record profits, while paying permanently lower corporate taxes). Take some accountability instead of relying on the government to solve your problems.

You got that right. I just got a text from my “incensed” father in Georgia. A lifelong democrat who said he’s “done with the corruption” and is voting for Trump. Never voted for a Republican that I can remember

Its always amusing reading the comments of people who lack basic civics education and understanding of democratic norms , use terms they clearly know nothing about. Using terms like banana republic doesn't make you smart.
FYI: In France, former president Nicolas Sarkozy spent two nights in a police precincts after being indicted on a corruption case. If you don't like the rule-of-law upon which countries have tried to built their stability and prosperity, you can always buy a one-way ticket to Moscow.

Well said Thank you

Sure. Republicans are going to wait in long lines to vote in elections they have been told for years are fraudulent. Or they'll do mail-in voting (which they've also been told not to do...)

This does not get him one new vote. He already had every delusional idiot who refuses to admit that he is a corrupt incompetent lunatic.

Great story. Very believable and all that...

I guess you missed the story about how a conviction would cost him independent voters.

“Independent” voters? Are you kidding? Do you seriously believe there is a person in the country with an IQ above room temperature that is “undecided” at this point?

Millions of people are. They don’t post on political forums, though.

I doubt it's even one million. But Trump won by fewer than 100k votes and Biden won by fewer than 40k so maybe it will make a difference...

How pathetic.

Trump didn't win the popular vote.
