Are you so daft as to conclude that a typical high stats, no-hook applicant has any “real” chance of getting in other than through ED? This is true for any school with a below 10% overall admissions rate that fills half or more of its class ED. Whether an outcome theoretically “could” happen in RD, mind you, is irrelevant to how students should go about using ED to maximize admissions chances.

What are you going on about? The PP was in response to another poster in this thread who said, quote, “Northwestern does not belong in the top 10. You just have to ED the school to get in.”
