Does anyone else find this story totally outrageous? And it makes me wonder if those gossip reports awhile back about Beyonce faking the pregnancy might actually be true - covering up the security cameras, etc. in the maternity ward makes it a lot easier to sneak in a surrogate. Either way, these stars should be ashamed of themselves. |
| It is like they forget that stars have babies all the time. |
|
i thought these were rumors but now that i see the nytimes covered it, i am more inclined to believe it (vs ny daily news, for example).
it is disturbing on many levels especially in light of the symbolism of the occupy movement. she's entitled to her privacy of course but at the cost of other babies and parents? no. what is esp troublesome is that they covered security cameras. what if a crime had been committed? i hope someone files a complaint with the appropriate state agency. |
| I really hope the Department of Health looks into this |
| I think it is despicable , if it is true. |
+1 |
| I like to think if I were a major celebrity I would not be like this AT ALL |
| I thought it was for only 20 minutes? |
| Even 20 minutes is too long. Having money does not give you a moral right to disrespect or displace regular people. As a practical matter it does, but it is is still disgusting behavior. |
| I was disgusted by it. I can't imagine having a newborn in the NICU, being stressed and wanting to be with them (these are often life and death cases) and having some prima donna's security team not let me in the room. |
| Unbelievable and ugly. I hope these parents sue the hospital for emotional distress. |
| It wasn't just 20 minutes. The NYT report said parents were either locked in or locked out of the NICU for hours in some cases. |
| I wouldn't sue the hospital, because that will just make 'normal' peoples' costs go up even more. I would freaking sue B & J. But I think that its probably being blown way out of proportion by the media? I mean the hospital HAS to have foreseen a backlash if they really allowed this to go on, and getting their pants sued off. |
| Why are you all pissed at Beyonce and Jay-Z? Be pissed at the hospital who choose money over their other patients. No one knows how long the "lockdown" was in effect, so save your outrage. If I were worth hundreds of millions, I would also want the ward locked down until I could get settled in my room. All sorts of crazies out here. Waiting 20 minutes or even an hour to see your child is not going to kill anyone. |
