Per-packaged vegan snacks

A child in DC's class has dairy/egg allergy. Parents need to supply snacks from time to time. What are your favorite, packaged snacks, preferably from giant or Safeway?

Hm. Completely dairy and egg free?

They're not usually available at Safeway that I know of, but I really like (as does DS) Primal Strips vegan jerky.

They're pricey and folks who have never had vegan jerky before may be utterly disgusted, however.

Other easier pre-packaged options include little bags of baby carrots, 100 calorie packs of Nabisco Wheat Thins, Lorna Doones, and even Chips ahoy, believe it or not.

A lot of prepackaged snacks have at least whey in them, which is not vegan and I'm unsure if it is enough to affect the child with a dairy allergy.

Primal strips might be too spicy, they're certainly expensive per package and a lot of kids won't like them.

What about pre-cut apples? raisin boxes, baby carrot sticks, Trader Joe's has pre-packaged almonds.

It's a tree nut/peanut free school. For the snack, I try to bring in fruit with something else. I don't think the jerky would have very broad appeal with the kids but thanks for the thought.

Yes, it needs to be vegan--no whey or cassien.

I've done Tortilla chips and salsa--trying to keep it somewhat healthy.

Mini applesauce; raisins; pretzels; popcorn.
