(Sandy Evans is the chairman of the Comprehensive Planning Development Committee and will chair this work session on January 11.)

The Comprehensive Planning Development Committee (CPDC) directed staff to prepare a brief for the School Board on the Southwestern and Annandale Ad Hoc Regional Planning Studies as
they consider whether this form of community engagement should continue in the future, especially when multiple schools are involved and when the issues are regional in scope and
impact. The central questions are -

What improvements and changes should be implemented if the ad hoc process is
continued?

Did the outcomes justify the time and resources for the ad hoc members and staff?

Was the public well-served by the process in terms of input, outcomes, transparency of process, and communications?

CPDC generally concurs with the staff report and recommendations outlined above. Continued discussion on of the following points will be considered at future CPDC meetings and reported
out to the School Board.

What is the role of FPAC when an ad hoc process is to be initiated?

Non-boundary solutions – should these be reviewed on separate study track or concurrent with boundary study?

Should an Ad Hoc group remain active throughout boundary study process until a School Board final decision is reached?

Review/revise Ad Hoc guidance
