Recommend your Disney travel agent

Anonymous
Hi -
Just gearing up to book a Disney trip for this fall. I've done a bit of reading and consulting with friends, so I have a general sense of our plan (in terms of dates, where we want to stay, parks we want to visit), but I'd like to work with a travel agent to help pull it all together, as it is still quite overwhelming. Has anyone used the agent recommended on Mousesavers (Small World Vacations)? Any other recommendations? I think we would prefer someone particularly knowledgable about Disney.

I've used Dreams Unlimited travel and have been happy.

Did they get you any discounts on hotel? Wondering if we should expect to pay full price for accomodations (Disney resort). My understanding is that you are better off getting park tickets through Undercover Tourist.

I used Elyssia Antonelle of MickeyTravels - she's amazing! She got us a great deal .

Elyssa at mickey travels, http://www.mickeytravels.com/services.html - she's a friend from college and has planned 2 Disney trips for us, and for several of our friends. she's great at helping us find off peak rates, continues to look for promos that occur after booking and retroactively applies them -- she makes all the advanced reservations, and helps with itineraries if you need/want.

And, we compared her prices with AAA and doing it on our own, and she was cheaper. if you want more info offline, let me know.

good luck!

Thanks -- this is what I need, since we are booking so far in advance. I want to make sure we don't miss out on any deals. Can I ask where you stayed?

We stayed at grandfloridian last time and for our upcoming trip too. One stop on the monorail from the ,magic kingdom where we spent the most time and great kids pool. for us being on the monorail was important given age of DD - we spent mornings at a park and then afternoons at the pool, then back to a park in the early evening.

I just wanted to follow up to let you know I had a great talk with Elyssa this morning. She is awesome and sent me quotes in like 15 minutes. Definitely going to use her, as she seems so knowledgeble and has an awesome personality. I mentioned how I had gotten her name, and we had a good laugh about the benefits of social networking. She knew who you were. Thanks for the recommendation!

That's great, so glad it worked out for you. She's a doll. Have a great trip - my DH and I were total skeptics, but after our first trip we couldn't wait to book the next one and our dd loved it!

NP here. I used Elyssa from Mickey Travels (see info above) after the recommendations in this thread. Elyssa was fantastic! We didn't know if we would actually make our Disney vacation in March, due to a snowstorm, and Elyssa was standing by (well past business hours) waiting to help out in any way she could! This would definitely be a reason to book through an agent, and her specifically; Elyssa would have been able to navigate Disney booking and save us time and money. We had a great time, and I appreciated her suggestions.

Kimberly at Small World Vacations has done Disney World and Cruises for us. She's been great.

I use Kelley Lord at Fairy Godmother travel for all my Disney trips. She specializes in Military discounts.

NP: We too used Elyssa from Mickey Travels. She's great and easy to work with.

I highly recommend Jenn Whitney (jenn@whiteglovedestinations.com). I found her through DCUM earlier this week, contacted her, and just booked our first Disney cruise! I had reached out to a couple other online services and just got standard email responses, whereas Jenn called me, answered my (many, many) questions, and gave me helpful tips. As a first time cruiser, I feel like I need some hand holding, so having an experienced agent who is easy to reach and responsive is a big plus.
