Tell me about your experience with Sligo Middle School (Montgomery County)

We are moving to the area and have found a home near Sligo MS. What have your experiences been with the school?

Do a search in this forum for it--it has been mentioned in several threads (some positive, some negative)

Also note that it may be different in the coming years. A new elementary school was built in McKenney Hills and all of those kids are now slotted for Sligo. Generally, a neighborhood of involved parents so should be a positive influx of new kids.

The kids going to the new school would previously have gone to Oakland Terrace or Woodlin, both of which feed to Sligo. So, nothing changes in that regard.

I agree that these neighborhoods have involved parents.

Hopefully this generation of involved parents will stay in the neighborhood instead of running away to other school districts.
