| I thought it would be festive to roast some chestnuts. I set the oven to 450 and didn't really watch the time and then heard some thunp/pops. They actually blew up in the oven and when I took them out. How long are you supposed to roast chestnuts, do you need to prick a hole in them first? |

OP here, good to know about the scoring. They taste like mushy, dried out cardboard. They smelled OK while roasting but the oven cleaner smell now is really strong and unpleasant. Not the ambiance I was going for today. |
