Anyone have experience (positive or negative) with the childcare facilities at Sport and Health, Washington Sports Club (both in downtown Bethesda) or Crunch (Wisconsin in NW DC)? TIA
Fitness First's childcare is terrific.
Sport and health is hit or miss. Some of the child care workers are great others not so much. My 18mo son really likes Carol but doesn't doesn't do so well with Anita. Just our experience...
The childcare at Washington Sports in Bethesda is awful. I had to quit because I could never leave my child there without some sort of incident occurring. I joined Equinox in Bethesda and the childcare there is amazing.
Crunch doesn't have child care.

Equinox is supposedly raising their childcare rates to $12/child for a 2 hour session. They said there were going to beef up their program by offering tumbling and art - however, the providers in the Kids Club know nothing about it. Also, there is some type of heating issue in the room - the Kids Club is 85 degrees in there. Unsafe for the kids and the workers. My 5 year old daughter loves it because she is watching TV and playing video games - really expensive for passive entertainment.

Bethesda S&H daycare requires a reservation and you don't call exactly 24 hours in advance, you can never get a spot. This is why we moved to Equinox (I am the 12:12 poster). I agree on the comments about the providers - very hit or miss. Some of very engaging and warm; others are not.
I left Bethesda S&H b/c of the childcare (exactly as PP described) and was rarely able to get to the gym b/c of it. Went to FF in Bethesda and it is exactly what I need (at 1/4 the price!). Always the same ladies and they are so sweet. Kids (1 & 3) like going which, for my kids, is saying a lot!
You didn't list it, but I'd just add that we joined the YMCA gym exactly b/c of the childcare.

OP here - thanks so much!
22:58 - I assume that you mean the YMCA on Old Georgetown? Thanks! |
