Do your pets sleep in your bed?

If so, how often do you change the sheets?

I went to make MB's bed since the kids were asleep and I was bore and could not believe my eyes!!!! The sheets and comforter were covered in hair!!! So gross!!! I wanted to throw up! I mean, I thought the sheets were gray and when I got closer I noticed it was white covered in black hair!

Nedless to say, I went ahead and brushed the dogs instead

Our two large dogs sleep in their own beds at the foot of ours. In the bed with us would be GROSS, but I do love them dearly and snuggle with them on the floor.

No, my dog has a short tail that doesn't cover his butt (hole) excuse my French, anyway I wouldnt be able to put my head on a pillow where he had placed his butt. And yes, his hair would be everywhere, it's disgusting.

Yes--a beagle, but she gets groomed once a month and is mostly an indoor dog who doesn't dig or roll around in the yard when outside. We change the sheets once a week, and we keep an inexpensive white (so I can see when it needs washing) coverlet on top of our good comforter.

Yes my dog and cat sleep on our bed. Both shed a lot and we are probably gross. Luckily, this doesn't affect any of you, right?

I think it's totally gross to have pets in your bed but I love this response. Amen.

My dog is sleeping in my bed with me right now - and so is my DD. Our dog doesn't shed, so fur isn't a problem. As to everything else, I figure that my dog does her business outside and I have to have very little to do with it. My DD is, by far, the less hygenic of the two. She currently has a plastic bag full of crap secured around her waist with tape. I have never understood how people with KIDS think that dogs are disgusting.

My two cats sleep in the bed with me and DD, usually on either side of my pillow. I don't care about the cat hair, but I try to change the sheets pretty regularly (whatever that means).

Cat slept with us until I got pregnant. Loved the cuddling, but pretty gross in retrospect. He would track cat litter into bed sometimes...makes me shudder to think about it.

OP here. If that's what you think why did you feel compelled to respond?

Anyway, if you're my boss it does affect our relationship. You'd come back to a nicely made bed yesterday and instead you'll be one more night sleeping in that filth. But I guess you dont care anyway so we're all good.

*Gag*

2 dogs and 2 cats, and none of them are allowed to sleep on our bed.

We have a short-haired cat. He sleeps in the basement because cats are nocturnal and he is up some of the night, and not very well-behaved. He plays with stuff in our nightstand, knocks over my water glass, and attacks our feet. After a few months of sleepless nights we decided he had to sleep in the basement. It's a finished basement and it's cozy down there and everyone sleeps better.

There is a study I ran into recently that said people who let their pets sleep with them get worse sleep. I can see a dog who sleeps through the night but I've grown up with cats and they are so bad at night!

No. We have 2 dogs. At first I would have, but a trainer convinced me it's the final frontier of being master. You cannot have a dog sleep in bed with you and have the dog really be willing to listen to you. Sleeping on an elevated surface with the owner is a big message to a dog. My dogs are family members, I love them pretty much as children, I'm not obsessed with being "pack leader" or whatever, but I do need discipline, especially for safety's sake with kids.
