I am new to this forum but a frequent poster on the City Data forum. For those of you not familiar everyone there has a username and thus an 'identity'. Of course a person reveals as little or as much as they want about their location and themselves. I think it give the forum more depth than everyone just being anonymous as we have here.
Of course, I'm a newbie so I understand if no one wants to change but I think it really adds to the experience to have names. It also makes it easier to track your own posts and give +1's to others. It also add to a sense of responsibility, I think, as those who value their reputations are encouraged to uphold the rules of the forum. Trolls and any others who are mean are generally 'counseled out' as they say. You can also block individual posters if you do not wish to see anything they post. So, what do you all think, should everyone here have a username? |
No. Search-this has been discussed here and there are
Specific reasons that Jeff chooses not To do so. |
No. I like city data, and I like dcurbanmom. They are different, which is part of the beauty. |
N0oooooooooooo. Baby center has that. I like that this board is completely anonymous. Yeah there are trolls, but you also get much more honest feedback about things like which clinicians are good or what's really going on at certain schools.
OP if YOU want to register go ahead. You can get a username here. |
