If I list the ingredients of this salad dressing can you tell me the proportions I should use?

Saw a friend make this simple dressing and it was really good on a simple fall salad. Just wondering if someone can help me with appropriate proportions. I'm planning on buying a bag of greens and then adding sliced apples and toasted chopped pecans, maybe avocado if I can find good ones this time of year. So I'm thinking the amount of salad is for 3-4 people or so (or however many servings a bag of greens gets you). TIA!

Olive oil
Apple cider vinegar
Honey
Salt and Pepper

Some people use equal amounts of oil/vinegar, but I prefer:

1/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
salt (sea salt preferred) to taste
black pepper to taste

My rule of thumb is a 2:1 ratio of oil to vinegar.

So in your case I would go with 2-3 Tbls of olive oil, 1-2 Tbls of cider vinegar, and then 1 tsp of honey, salt and pepper. I use kosher salt for things like this. Whisk it together and taste. If it is too sweet, a dash more of vinegar. If it is. It sweet enough add honey in 1/8 tsp increments.

Why don't you just ask your friend for the recipe?

Fyi, make sure you add the oil to the vinegar and not vice versa.

Thanks! Very helpful!

Friend just had a new baby and I didn't want to burden her with a recipe question. I figured it was basic enough to post here and get some info. Thanks again - very helpful.
