restaurant.com gift card -- good gift idea?

Has anyone used a restaurant.com gift card before? What did you think, was it worth it? Trying to decide if this will make a good holiday gift-swap present... thanks!

I looked into this for my mom once for her birthday and decided there were too many rules to make it worth it. Like many of the restaurants you have to spend a certain amount to use the gift card (i.e. $50 or $100) or you can only use it on certain days.

I've done it before, but only with close family. The rules are kind of a drag and there have been a few too many cases where the restaurant declined the gift card for no good reason.

Agreed, 8:14. If you want to make it a holiday swap present, you'd need to include cash to cover the difference between the card amount and the required spending amount. For instance, many of these cards are for $25 but require you to spend $50, not including alcohol.

No, I don't think it makes a good gift. I've never bought one for myself because of the rules and restrictions, and I've read that some restaurants get pissy when you use them.
