Hello, if your husband has a high level management or executive job and is not a lawyer $150K or higher how many hours per week does he work and how much travel (%) does he do? Thanks!

Works perhaps 70 hours a week in office/at home work time, but with travel time factored in, that skyrockets. He's gone about half to 2/3 the time, though almost never on weekends.

He travels 50% of the time. It's hard to estimate time working b/c it seems he's always on his laptop or phone. Maybe 60-70 hours a week?

He is not a high level manager, but a mid level manager making just under 200K.

He only travels 4xs a year at most (to go to trade shows). His work load ebbs and flows depending on the proposal efforts they are working on. If he is working on a large proposal then he works like crazy often including weekends. When there is no proposal work, he barely hits 40.

I too work FT and it REALLY sucks when he is working on a proposal because handling the kids by myself mornings and evenings (and getting them off to two different schools) is a huge challenge. At least once a week I'm up until 1AM doing work.

We are considering getting a AuPair to help out, because the sports schedule and my DHs schedule is getting completely out of control.

60 hours a week is not unusual and right now he is heading up a huge project that has had him gone since Halloween. He came home at Thanksgiving and will be home for 2 weeks starting this Saturday, but has to go back out for another few weeks in January. That is the first time he's had extensive travel like that, but his normal travel is 2-3 days every other week and some months, every week.

I make $150k WAH, federal employee. 40 hrs week, very flexible schedule tons of leave.

DH makes double my salary and works 11-12 hour days, some all-night ers (thankfully from home for that part).

DH works 60-80 hours/weeks and travels 80% of the time. He is C level.

Director of program at mid-sized NGO. Over $150k. Works maybe 50-60 hours per week. Travel varies but usually is more more than one week per month. That said, this is new. When he was just getting started in this position, he worked closer to 80 hour weeks and traveled closer to 3 weeks per month. It's only now that he has a larger staff who are up to speed on their issues that he can sit back and direct.

140k year Software Manager 50 hours a week and side job brings in 40k a year. So he's working about 70 hours a week.

Project manager, no travel, on average 45-50 hour per week.

We both left these jobs recently but mine was 55-60 hours, travel about 2 days a week. SVP level. DH was more like 60-70 hrs/week, fed govt. Lots of travel, sometimes gone for 2 weeks on international trips.

DH is a vice president at a large IT company. He helps to run their federal government relations. He's home most nights by 6:00 (unless he has a fundraiser) and also works from home a lot as he doesn't have an office. He travels very little. He does work from home after the kids go to beds most nights, though. I would say he puts in about 50-60 hours per week.

I feel very, very fortunate.

I am curious about salaries. What does a typical Director of IT or a VP of IT get around here. Just hoping for the future
