Gifts for director, office staff of preschool

I am wondering what is usual for gifts for the director and other office staff of a preschool.

I have always given giftcards to the teachers but haven't given to the office staff. My LO has been at her current school for 1.5 y and I am not crazy about the director and other management. I didn't consider giving anything last year because we had been there only a short time but am wondering if i should this year. There is one secretary who is always very nice and friendly and helpful and I am inclined to give her a small gift. What are others doing for the nonteachers at their preschool?

Maybe a $10 Starbucks gift card and a thank you note? I was in the same boat as you two years ago and that's all I did... fortunately that director was replaced by one who I just adore, and so now I give the director the same gift that I give to the teachers.

Nothing for the director. She's not that pleasant, and she makes a decent salary. I'd rather give more to the teachers.

I bought a gift basket at Homegoods to be shared with all the staff including the Director, certificates for the teachers.

Our director was very actively involved with the kids and received a gift card and small present. Moved on to a new preschool with kiddo 2 and the director was hardly ever around. She knew all the kids names but I never really connected with her and I think she could have done a better job managing her staff. No gift for her, not even a holiday card.

One year I baked cookies for the director. That was it. I give gift cards to the teachers

Same experience, and her lack of committment to staff retention. It's more important for me to show appreciation to the teachers who take care of my children.

I was going to ask this exact question. I have always given to teachers, but never to administration or office staff and this year I was thinking about whether I should change that. There is a new director, whom I like and who takes a lot of time to talk with me when things come up, but I wasn't sure what to get.

I gave gifts to the director and office staff our preschool because they are friendly, lovely people who make a great effort to help out the parents and kids at our school in any way possible. I don't think I'd feel obligated to give them gifts if they weren't so nice or didn't seem to contribute to our school community in the ways that they do.

I always gift gifts to director and office staff. They are responsible for running a great school and are rarely recognized.

I work as Admin Assistant at a church and I'm on here googling trying to find ideas to gift the AMAZING Preschool Director and teachers of the church Preschool because they are caring for "our future". I'm shocked at the answers here.
