Do NOT go to Trader Joe's

if you want to gain less than 10 pounds this holiday season. I went today and had to restrain myself from filling up my buggy with every Christmas treat they have. I wanted ALL of it- eggnog almonds, chocolate covered Joe-O's, waffle cone chocolate mint cookies, chocolate and brandy truffle filled figs, pannettone, fleur de sel caramels. WHY do they put out so many amazing holiday goodies? I walked out with a box of Candy Cane Joe-Joe's that I have already inflicted serious damage upon. No more Trader Joe's until after Christmas.

I went to get something to send a friend at Thanksgiving -- and ended up FILLING A USPS "medium" size box because I couldn't decide!

My favorite are the peppermint/white chocolate covered pretzel thins -- so yummy!

I devoured choco covered almond clusters last time I went. I obviously cannot buy them again, because I have so little restraint with them.

Before I opened this I was ready to come with a snaky answer...lol It is actually a very good strategy the one you suggested. I will send my husband with a list of what we usually buy, because when I go, I always buy more than intended - especially now!

I am the OP. I started thinking "That would be good for a hostess gift" "That would be a good stocking stuffer" and then got real with myself and admitted I'd eat it all before EVER giving it away. And I don't even normally have a sweet tooth! It's just these seasonal treats call to me...

I bought a Pannetone and ate it all in less than 24 hours, by myself. I have already given myself the same advice. Thanks for the reminder because I was just thinking maybe I should get a couple more before they are all gone. By the way, it makes the most fantastic french toast. Merry Christmas.

I got eggnog at TJs yesterday in order to make eggnog french toast. Might be too much to combine with the pannetone?

Try it and let us know. I think it sounds delicious but then I might eat another whole one with the added calories of the eggnog. God, that sounds wondeful.

Have you tried their truffles? To...die...for. Sipping chocolate made with whole milk? Yes, please.
