Washington Latin?

Does anyone have any firsthand information about Washington Latin Charter School? I know what has been written in the NW Current, Post, etc., but would love any information from parents. Thanks!

I know several people with kids there. WL had some problems with the headmaster feuding with teachers and the board last year, but he's gone and they now have a great headmistress (used to be head of school at NCS) and things seems to have settled in nicely. The kids I know who go there love it, and the test scores are phenomenal. But, the workload is very heavy, and the kids get a LOT of homework -- although I've heard that the teachers are very willing to work with kids who are having trouble. The main problem seems to have been overcrowding, but that should ease now that the upper school will be in the former British School on 16th Street.
