Sorry about going off topic on the ADHD thread.
My DS is in preK in a language immersion school where there is no English in preK. Asperger's is suspected. Classic symptoms, does not play with other children and not engaged in class/not sit during circle time but wonder around the classroom, little pretend play, problems with the give and take in conversation, obsessed with doors, lighting fixtures/bulbs, and especially fans. It has gotten much better from the beginning of school and some of it may have been due to this being the first time in a group setting - transition took longer but now he does what is requested and is not a behavior problem. Does well learning the language and the foreign language helps since everyone has to practice conversations/interactions as part of the curriculum. Cannot talk incessantly about his obsessions nor ask lots and lots of questions, don't know the language well enough. |
| Very interesting. It sounds like it may be working. |
