Bus times

I'm trying to figure out how my schedule will work next year when my oldest starts kindergarten. If school starts at 8:15 what time does your kids' bus come?

We have a 9:15 start and bus comes at 8:30. We Re the 2nd stop. school gets out at 3:55 and bus arrives anywhere between 4:10-4:20. early release...school gets out at 1:20 and bus arrives at 1:45.

Could be as early as 7 am or as late as 8 am - depends on the bus and the route.

our school starts at 8:55am and the bus comes at 8:15am.. we are the 1st stop. day ends at 3:35 and bus comes at 3:45.. again the 1st stop.

I have been in two NOVA school systems. In both, I'd have had to put my kids out at the bus stop 50 minutes before school started when school was a 3-minute drive from my house. Needless to say, we walked or drove them ourselves.

Sometimes you can find bus route information on the school's website, or the best thing to do is ask a neighbor whose children already attend the same school. Often the bust stop times are similar year to year.

Our school starts at 8:15 and the bus comes at 7:45. It can vary a lot depending on your proximity to the school & how many stops per bus route. For example, we live in a neighborhood with so many kids that the bus fills up in 3 stops and then goes straight to the school (about 2 miles away). If you are in a less dense area, further away from the school, the bus ride could be longer.

Just call your local school as they aren't generally allowed to post the info on their websites (for safety reasons) but would probably tell you the times on the phone. They might give you a song and dance about the routes being different next year, but they are moving towards permanent stops and in general don't change too much from year to year. You can at least get an idea of when the bus comes (15 minute ride is very different from the 50 min ride that a PP spoke about).

I wouldn't try to predict school bus times for next year, now. I thought I could do that. This year the bus in our neighborhood comes 25 minutes later than it did last year.

This year it comes at 8:40/8:45 for a 8:55 school start time. She's the 2nd to last stop in the neighborhood and we're about 5 minutes from the school.
