Table Linens--questions

Anonymous
Anyone have suggestions on where to buy table cloths/linens for my kitchen table? I have contemporary taste and most of what I have seen are antiquated prints and such--just not my thing. To add insult to injury, I have an oval table, and if I happen to run into table cloth prints I do like (i.e., Target) they don't carry sizes for oval tables. I see the term "oblong" used a lot, can those go on oval table?
Any advice?

Crate and Barrel? West Elm might have stuff in your style.

Dwell Studio? Might be pricey, but you never know...
I'd check West Elm first, though.

We pretty much stick with solid colors, possibly with a pattern woven in.

I've had luck finding (affordable) casual table cloths at JCP and BB&B. C&B, etc, tend to have all cotton ones that require ironing and aren't very tolerant of food spills.

Oblong means rectangle. You can use those on an oval table, but you'll have points hanging down. Not the worst thing in the world, but not ideal. I suppose if you knew what you were doing you could cut and re-hem, but that is beyond my skill set. Oval is a difficult one to find, I think partly b/c it needs to be a good fit both for width and length and tables aren't standard sizes.

OP here, thanks for the great ideas. I'm going to buy an affordable oblong one from Target and see how it goes. I'm hoping to get a new kitch table in the next 5 years and I can assuem you it will not be OVAL!

Thanks!
