Entertainment and Pop Culture
That's probably why they got involved. Have your agent call my agent. They are like an old fashioned hollywood "couple" that the studios put together for PR. They have ZERO chemistry. On the other hand, Taylor Swift sure does a lot of hugging and jumping up an down with her "best friend" while watching her "boyfriend" play football. They are beards. |
She's gotten a lot of mileage out bashing exes, for sure, but once you get into your mid-thirties, it starts to look a little pathetic. |
Nothing more pathetic than being a billionaire nominated and winning all the highest awards, and named person of the year. Nothing more pathetic than the fed crediting you for personally pulling the country into economic recovery. But sure, she’s a little pathetic. |
Funny! |
Roughly 5% of her songs are about exes. Do your research. |
Being at the top of the pyramid for trickle down economics does not guarantee you are a good person. I think you should defend her from our thoughts by buying one of her albums again. |
| You don't get to be Taylor Swift without being weird. I don't find her that interesting, but apparently more people are interested in her than in Bangladesh. |
This is the first comment I opened to and I agree 100% |
This is crazy. In what way would this benefit TS? If she was gay, she’d be openly gay. Why do you over analyze people like this and not take them at face value? |
| I agree it's a PR relationship but no way she's gay. |
This, at this point in her career, in the world she lives in, being gay would somehow even make her more marketable. Honestly, if she came out of the closet, there will be online trolls saying "she's not really gay, just doing it for the attention" I don't care for her music, but the attention and hate she gets is nuts. And while I do get annoyed how much coverage she gets at these games, that's on the network, not on her. My beef is with the production crew, not with her going to her boyfriend's game. gimme a break |
Taylor's father wouldn't want to rock the boat with all the parents who financially support their kids' fandom. Because for all the folks who would be fine or even more supportive of a bisexual or lesbian Taylor Swift, many wouldn't (consider international audiences too). The last thing Daddy Swift wants is global controversy surrounding Taylor's sexuality. |
I have no idea what TS's sexuality is and I don't think it's my business, but from an industry perspective, I agree with this. It is more lucrative for TS to be straight. Probably she also just is straight. But the fact that she became famous for writing her own music so young, and has always sold a pretty specific version of herself who is straight (and romantic, and unlucky in love) would probably make it harder for her to come out if she decided she was gay or bi, without damaging her career. It sucks but it's true, and I think that's one reason why speculation on the subject continues to swirl. I also think the performative nature of her personality/brand will always make some people suspicious. Beyoncé also gets some of these rumors and she has a similar approach to fame. I think it's actually smart to create a public persona that you can perform for fans as it likely allows Swift to have a private self she can keep to herself. But admittedly she is pretty aggressive about convincing people that the Taylor Swift she performs for the public is the "real" one, even though it also often comes off as very contrived at times. I think this dissonance leads a lot of people to feel like she MUST be hiding something. I tend to think she's being authentic but also she's been famous so long that her version of authentic is always going to come off as a little staged, which actually makes me sad for her. But I think this about many public people -- I would never, ever want to be that famous or public and have so little privacy regarding my personal life, especially. So Swift's choices to make so much of this so public baffle me. But she's just a very different person with a very different life. It's probably just normal to her. I couldn't do it. |
|
She's really not making anything public, though. She spoke about it exactly once, in Time Magazine. That's it. Otherwise, she's doing as she said, supporting him, he's supporting her, and other people are there and they don't care.
I think you saw the nature of her world/security a little more in Buffalo. Those suites were essentially in the stands, whereas the other ones are elevated a little bit. Jason was in and out and amongst the people in two seconds flat, they had security out front and she was not front and center, she was in the back. I felt for her when I realized she probably didn't feel 100% safe in that box. |

I can't believe people still think it's a "PR relationship." They spent Christmas, New Year's and the week in between together - her whole family even went to Kansas City for Christmas. His whole family would have to be in on it, including his parents, brother, SIL and kids. Brittany and Pat Mahomes would have to be in on it, as Taylor spends her free time with them sometimes.
Taylor has gone to almost all of his games - all for PR??? She's worth a billion dollars, was Time Person of the Year, is up for 3 million Grammys - what more "PR" does she need? And why would she have wasted the last 6 months in a fake relationship with Travis when she could have used her time off really having fun? Please be smarter people. I'm embarrassed for you. |
