1 Positive/1 Negative with EPT tests. huh?

It was early, but I did a EPT test at 11 days post IUI and got a faint positive. I took another one this morning and got a negative. So now I am confused. Last time I was pregnant the EPT picked up a faint line at 10 days and it continued to get darker each day. Any thoughts?

I'd suggest you take the test again tomorrow. Usually HPTs work best first thing in the morning, but there can be other variables as well. Drugs used during your IUI cycle can impact HPT results (either way) -- especially if you had a trigger shot before your IUI.

Unfortunately, another possibility is a chemical pregnancy -- where an embryo may have implanted, but then not continued to grow. It really is too early to tell though.

I am hoping it is a bad test for your sake, but it is possibly a chemical pregnancy.

Test again. Either test could have been a dud. There is also the chance of a chemical pregnancy. When I had one, it stayed positive for several days, but never really got much darker.

Was your first test in the afternoon? It happened to me once that I did one test in the afternoon (very faint positive) and then another test in the morning the next day (clearly negative) and in the end I wasn't pregnant. I think the test you do first thing in the morning is the most reliable.
