| Subject says it all. Typically ride the train but will be driving there with a few friends next week and want to figure out the cost. Driving from Alexandria to Midtown Manhattan (95, NJ Turnpike, NY bridges/tunnels). Anyone know the current cost? |
| Not exact, but $35-45. Lincoln Tunnel was $15 (?). We did it just a few weeks ago. The turnpike was around $10 for the trip. |
| About $25. |
| So that's one way, correct? Same cost going home? |
| Hmm.. $25-45 is a big difference. |
| I am 2148. It is cheaper going home, no Lincoln Tunnel (so, minus $15), the turnpike is just slightly cheaper (maybe by a dollar) and I think there's a bridge (Delaware Bridge or something like that) that had a toll on the way there too but not back. |
| So you think $65 is a good estimate roundtrip? ~$40 there and ~$25 back. |
Yes. |
| This past week the Metro section of the Washington Post said it's $52 each way from DC to NYC. |
|
$18 each way + or -
We do that trip very often. |
| Haha, big discrepancies. Guess I'll just have to see when we go. |
|
At least if you go the way we did (I am 2149, 2157, and 2202), it will be about that cost. We went up 95 till we hit the turnpike and then took the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan.
I am sure there are cheaper ways to go, but our hotel was in Manhattan, so that's where we went. |
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm not... if you go to google and map it out and do driving directions the map google gives you will include tolls. |
| You need an EZPass. |
| OP here, we do have an EZ Pass but that doesn't change the cost, right? |
